The Lab puts its expertise in evaluating and developing language AI at the service of the College's members and partners:

1. For faculty: in teaching, guides in Arabic and English to using generative AI in teaching and assessment, hands-on workshops on evaluating AI outputs and integrating them responsibly into courses, and advice on writing an AI-use policy for a course. In research, methodological consultations for faculty researching language AI, from framing the research question to designing evaluation studies and their criteria; advice on the responsible use of AI tools in research and publication, including disclosure; and periodic research clinics where work in progress is presented and discussed.

2. For students: training in evaluating machine and generative translation, post-editing, and quality standards. For graduate students, methodological consultations on theses that involve AI, complementing their supervisors' guidance rather than replacing it, and on the responsible use of AI tools in research writing; and the Lab's research cohort, when announced, in which each student carries out a small evaluation project under the Lab's supervision and presents the results at the Lab's research seminar.

3. For the College's departments: a unified evaluation methodology (an error taxonomy, an evaluation procedure, and a report template) that each department can apply in its own language, a venue for presenting and discussing its members' research in the Lab's research seminar, and coordination with the University's Artificial Intelligence Office.

4. For research and technology organizations: specialist human evaluation of AI system outputs in Arabic and the College's other languages (translation, text generation, summarization, and cultural and dialectal appropriateness) with a unified methodology, a qualitative report that explains error patterns through examples, and joint scholarly publication; and joint development of language applications tested against the Lab's standards.
