About the Department:
The Department of European and Eastern Languages is one of the leading departments in the College of Languages Sciences at King Saud University. It is the only department in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region that grants a bachelor's degree in the following languages: Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Hebrew, Persian, and Turkish. The department offers an excellent opportunity to acquire these languages and the ability to understand and communicate with different cultures in an international society that requires multicultural coexistence, opening new horizons for learners of these languages.
Students' acquisition of these different languages enhances communication between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries speaking these languages. The department also meets the needs of the labor market by graduating qualified competencies in these languages that can contribute to activating various( to creating) partnerships between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries speaking these languages and building bridges of communication with them in different cultural, economic, and political fields. From this standpoint, the specializations of the department open a promising future for graduates to work in broad and diverse fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad due to the urgent need for human cadres who can speak these languages, have a good knowledge of their cultures, and possess the necessary skills to translate to and from these languages.
The department provides an excellent opportunity for its graduates to work in many fields and sectors, including foreign companies and others in the private sector, as well as the government and public sector, such as the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Information, the General Entertainment Authority, the Saudi Tourism Authority, the Royal Commission for the City of Al-Ula, and the Diriyah Gate, in addition to diplomatic and media fields.
