The Japanese Language Program:
The Japanese Language Program at the College of Language Sciences at King Saud University is the first program to specialize in the study of the Japanese language, and the only program not only in the Kingdom but at the level of all the GCC countries that grants a bachelor's degree in Japanese language and translation. The program has become a hub for conducting Japanese Language Proficiency Tests (JLPT) in December of each year, catering to the growing demand for reliable certification to assess the level of Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers. It undoubtedly acquires its importance from the great importance(status) that Japan enjoys as a vast technical and economic power, and one of the seven major industrialized countries in the world, in addition to its distinctive culture that has been refined over its long and rich history, which enjoys excellent spread worldwide ( is globally respected and valued). In recent years in particular, the desire of many young men and women to study the Japanese language and learn about Japanese culture has increased. (to study the Japanese language and its culture has increased). This trend is not only at the level of the Kingdom, but also at the level of the Arab world and the world.( This trend is not limited to the Kingdom but has spread across the Arab world and the world at large.) There is an urgent need for human cadres who speak Japanese and have a good knowledge of the Japanese culture to activate and strengthen the partnership between the Kingdom and Japan. There are promising opportunities for graduates to work in: broad and diverse fields, both in Japanese companies operating in the Kingdom and in Saudi companies that deal with Japan, which is an important trade partner of the Kingdom, in the tourism sector and the government sector such as the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the General Entertainment Authority, the Saudi Tourism Authority, the Diriyah Gate, in addition to diplomatic and information fields.
