Learning Resources Unit

Description:

The Learning Resources Unit is concerned with supporting the learning environment. It seeks to provide educational content, methods of developing it, and upgrades the academic environment to be a bustling hub of creativity. It offers material requirements and needs to raise the quality of the learning and teaching environment.

Objectives:

Enabling male and female students and faculty members to use and benefit from various learning resources while keeping abreast of scientific and technical development in science and learning, employing them as an essential life skill, and spreading the culture of e-learning.

Tasks:

  • Providing multiple pedagogical and educational sources to male and female students and faculty members.

  • Assisting them in accessing the sources of information available inside and outside the university.

  • Training faculty members and students in using information sources.

  • Providing community services to male and female students of the college and other colleges, for example: (proofreading service)

  • Following up on the readiness of the college's smart classrooms and computer and language laboratories.

Learning Resources Section:

1.       Information technology:

The Unit seeks to develop the technical skills of faculty members and students by providing consultations, technical and technological support, and training. It also offers plans to keep pace with developments in the field of technologies and computers. It aims to contribute to achieving the university's vision and mission of "high leadership and excellence in building a knowledge society" and reaching full e-transformation by raising the awareness of the college's employees to the importance of electronic transactions and their benefits.

2.      IT Tasks:

The tasks of the unit are to provide advice and technical support to the beneficiaries in the college, including faculty members and administrators, to continue the educational and administrative process, in addition to setting up a system for periodic and emergency maintenance of special devices and equipment, systems for computer, language and TOEFL laboratories, and following up on maintenance contracts and agreements concluded with companies concerned with the maintenance of technical systems and programs required for laboratories.

3.      The Library:

The library seeks to provide a comfortable environment for education and provides various students' needs, such as books and dictionaries.
