Books and Translations in the Field of Artificial Intelligence and Technology
Department of Translation
Specialists acknowledge that Translation Studies, despite its relatively recent emergence as an independent discipline, has experienced steady growth in research and scholarly interest over the past few years. Like other fields of knowledge, it both influences and is influenced by other disciplines, frequently intersecting with them. Among the disciplines most closely intertwined with Translation Studies is technology, particularly computer-assisted translation tools and machine translation. Rarely does one find a specialized book that examines this intersection as comprehensively as this work, whose author is considered one of the most prominent scholars in the field of translation technologies.
This book presents the core concepts of the discipline and reviews the continuous and ongoing development of translation technologies. It also offers a critical review and evaluation of the functions and advantages these technologies provide to both professionals and non-specialists. Furthermore, it proposes a theoretical framework for studying this field and outlines a future vision for it. Undoubtedly, this book is unique in its specialization and diversity, and it is expected to serve as a key reference in its Arabic edition, just as it does in its English edition.
