The Master of Arts in Teaching Arabic to non-Native Speakers Program: 

The department offers the "Master of Arts in Teaching Arabic to non-Native Speakers" program. This program filled a vacuum created by the scarcity of master's programs in Applied Linguistics, especially programs to prepare Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers. This program allows a large number of graduates at the bachelor's level in Arabic from Saudis and others, (This program allows a large number of Saudi and non-Saudi graduates at the bachelor's level in Arabic,) the opportunity to qualify them in this specialized field educationally and functionally. The master's program in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers focuses on the field of Applied Linguistics, with special attention to ways and methods of teaching Arabic to this group, preparing its teachers, materials and teaching techniques, as well as introducing students to the nature of second language acquisition, conducting correspondence studies, analyzing linguistic learners' errors and the foundations of developing language tests, identifying language learning strategies, and psychological principles related to learning and teaching languages. The program also focuses on practical training in conducting applied language research and studies, preparing and analyzing Arabic language teaching materials, linguistic planning, dealing with culture in language teaching programs, and teaching Arabic during the program.
