The Bachelor of English Language and Literature Program:

The program was established in 1990 to meet the Kingdom's growing need for translators and interpreters in the public and private sectors. The program supports the Kingdom's economic diversification goals per (Kingdom’s goal of economic diversification as per )Saudi Vision 2030.  Saudi Vision 2030 aims to diversify economic sources and attract global investments. As a result, the program is an essential branch to international, regional, and local organizations, government bodies, industry institutions, and many other institutions in global communities that rely on translators to communicate with each other. Many sectors, including the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, cultural events, media outlets and social media, provide job opportunities for translators that enable them to build professional plans that highlight the values and beliefs of the Kingdom and visualize its cultural and geographical diversity in addition to its rich history. Translation and interpretation also play an invaluable role in diplomatic and cultural communication. In addition, the program trains researchers and specialists in translation studies, adding value to scientific research and knowledge development.
