Procedures for Requesting the Formation of a Thesis Defense Committee (Master's / PhD)

 

1.Submitting the Request: The thesis supervisor submits the request to form the defense committee through the University Thesis Approval System via the following link: [Click here]

 

2. Review by Graduate Studies Committee: The department refers the request to the Graduate Studies Committee for review. The committee ensures the student has met all requirements for the defense and nominates the committee members in accordance with the Graduate Studies Regulations.

 

3. Recommendation and Documentation: The Committee Head submits the committee’s recommendation, along with the defense committee request form and all required documents, to the Secretary of the Department Council via email (AALASMI@KSU.EDU.SA). The request is presented to the Head of the Department to be included in the agenda of the next Department Council meeting.

 

4.  Department and College Approval: The request is presented to the Department Council for a decision. Upon approval, the Head of the Department electronically approves the request in the system and refers it to the Dean of the College to be presented to the College Council for final processing.
